Overview
What we do for driveways
Most failed driveways in San Diego didn't fail because of the concrete. They failed because the base wasn't prepped, the rebar was skipped, or the control joints were spaced wrong. We pour driveways that actually last because we don't cut those corners — and Ronnie is on every job himself.
Whether you need a full tear-out and replace, an extension to fit a third car or RV, or a brand-new driveway on a new build, we handle the whole thing — demo, haul-off, base prep, forms, rebar, pour, finish, and cleanup.

Cost · Honest ranges
What does a driveway replacement cost?
Concrete flatwork from Rose Concrete starts at $17.22 per square foot for plain broom finish. Stamped, stained, or exposed-aggregate finishes add to that baseline depending on pattern, color, and material spec.
Demo and haul-off, base re-grade or import, reinforcement spec, finish choice, drainage work, and access (narrow side yards add labor) each shape the final number. We give you a fixed-price written quote at the on-site walk so you see the math before you commit.
What affects cost:
- Total square footage
- Demo and haul-off of the existing slab
- Base condition (does it need re-grading or import?)
- Reinforcement spec (rebar grid vs fiber-mesh)
- Finish choice (broom · smooth · swirled · stamped · stained)
- Apron tie-in to the public right-of-way (separate permit)
- Drainage scope (slope adjustments, surface drains)
- Access — narrow side yards add labor time
Quotes are fixed-price. No change orders unless the scope changes.

“We hired three contractors before Rose. Only one who actually walked the yard, talked through drainage, and showed up the day he said he would. Patio looks like the listing photos.”

FAQ
Driveways questions, answered
How long until I can park on my new driveway?
You can walk on it in 24-48 hours. We recommend keeping vehicles off for 7 days so the concrete reaches enough strength to handle car weight without imprinting. Heavy vehicles (RVs, work trucks) — give it 14 days.
Do I need a permit to replace my driveway?
Replacing an existing driveway in the same footprint usually doesn't need a permit. Widening it, changing the apron at the curb, or building a brand-new driveway in a new location does. We pull the permit if needed and handle the inspection.
Can you match the texture of my existing driveway or sidewalk?
In most cases, yes — we offer broom, smooth-trowel, swirled, and stamped finishes. We can usually match the look closely enough that the new pour blends with the rest of your hardscape.
What about my landscaping or irrigation?
We'll walk the job with you before demo and flag anything we need to protect or move. If a sprinkler line runs under the slab we'll cap it cleanly so your landscaper can re-route after the pour.
What's the warranty?
All our flatwork carries a workmanship warranty in writing. Hairline cracking is normal in concrete (it's why we cut control joints), but structural failures or settling within the warranty window — we come back and fix it on our dime.
